The Financial Administration of the Czech Republic “cleans up” Prague

The distrainers have focused mainly on the taxpayers who have intentionally moved to the capital recently in the belief that they escape the tax authority’s attention here.

Properties of tax debtors in total value of nearly CZK 10 million were seized by employees of the Financial Administration of the Czech Republic during the action called „Úklid 1” (“Clean up 1“). Most of the seized properties were cash money, cars and furniture in business premises. The distrainers have focused mainly on the taxpayers who have intentionally moved to the capital recently in the belief that they escape the tax authority’s attention here.

On June 18th 2014, six teams of tax distrainers visited chosen debtors who are registered in the territorial scope of the Tax Office for the capital of Prague. The teams reinforced colleagues from neighbouring regions.

The action "Clean up 1" showed clearly that the taxpayers cannot rely on imaginary anonymity of the capital city. “There is no place where the risky taxpayers might be sure that we will not visit them”, said Mr. Jiří Žežulka, the Deputy Director General of the General Financial Directorate.
