New Director General of the Financial Administration is Martin Janeček

Minister of Finance of the Czech Republic Mr. Andrej Babiš appointed Mr. Martin Janeček to the post of Director General of the Finacial Administration of the Czech Republic.

"Martin Janeček specialized in tax fraud especially in the area of ​​VAT and the fight against money laundering," said Finance Minister Andrej Babiš.

His mission is to make systemic changes in the Financial Administration, which will lead to increased efficiency of the administration of taxes as a whole. The core task is to make progress in combating tax fraud and thereby improve tax collection. Carousel fraud is a significant portion of the VAT leakage and it is one form of money laundering. There are also other tasks resulting from the Government’s policy statement, especially the electronic records of sales, VAT recapitulative statement and further development of the “Tax Cobra“ project, to ensure the effectiveness of these projects at a maximum.

Martin Janeček (35) studied Economics and Management at the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. He has been working in the Financial Administration since 2003. Until this year, he worked at the Tax Office for South Bohemian Region on creating of system to combat carousel fraud through the securing of property.
