Joint checking actions JUNO and JUNO II

During the night on 2nd April 2013 took place a joint checking action “JUNO” of the Financial Administration and the Customs Administration of the Czech Republic. Auditors checked information in accompanying documentations of the stopped vehicles importing fuels to the Czech Republic.

In case of 12 fuel tankers there was discovered that its declared taxpayer has tax arrears in the amount of CZK 8,4 million. Therefore, all the fuel in the amount of more than CZK 7 million was secured. If the tax debtor fails to pay his tax obligations, the secured fuel will be auctioned off.

Another joint checking action of the Financial Administration and Customs Administration of the Czech Republic, called “JUNO II” took place at many places all over the Czech Republic. Accompanying documents of tens of fuel tankers importing fuels to the Czech Republic were checked on 5th April 2013.

Two tankers of fuel in the amount of CZK 1,2 million were secured because of a suspicion pointing to possible intention that the declared taxpayer will not fulfil tax obligations related to importing of fuel.

By this approach, the Financial Administration of the Czech Republic prevents tax evasion and subsequent complicated enforcement of tax arrears. These actions have had a direct impact on the state budget and the Financial Administration of the Czech Republic will continue proceeding these checking actions.
