Czech Tax Administration hosted a working visit of eight delegates from the Macedonian Tax Administration that took place in Prague, the Czech Republic on 4th – 6th October 2011.

The main interest of Macedonian colleagues was to gain experience in the area of taxation of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the Czech Republic. Another topic they were interested in, it was the need of transformational change, which the Tax Administration has to fulfil before joining the European Union.

Therefore, the topics were focused on administration of taxes, tax audit, information technologies and exchange of information in the area of VAT (VIES).

The delegates from the Macedonian Tax Administration highly appreciated professionalism of the Czech speakers as well as possibility to discuss not only theoretical, but mainly practical issues with respect to above-mentioned topics.

For this reason, in the framework of working visit, the Macedonian delegation also visited Tax Office in Příbram. They had an opportunity to see tax office in operation on local level.

In order to get a full picture in the area of tax administration activity, the last stop of their working visit was the training centre of the Czech Tax Administration in Smilovice, where Macedonian colleagues had a chance to see premises of training centre and get acquainted with the educational system in the Czech Tax Administration.
